Computational Biology is an area of key strategic interest for interdisciplinary research and for employers in pharmaceuticals, advanced agriculture and in public health. The use of statistics in this area is essential. This new MSc will be run jointly between Mathematics, Computer Science, and Biological Sciences, providing an excellent point of entry to this growing area for graduates in any of the three constituent disciplines. Modules include Statistical Concepts, Methods and Tools, Statistical Techniques, Programming for Scientists, Machine Learning, Concepts in Biology, and a Dissertation. Assessment method
120 taught credits (examination in January and May) 60 credits for dissertation (submission deadline September)
Entry requirements
Minimum 2ii Bachelors Honours degree in a related dicipline.
English language requirements
IELTS:6.0 with minimum 5.5 in each component TOEFL:88 with minimum component scores: Listening 17, Writing 17, Reading 18, Speaking 20. Pearson PTE: 55 with minimum scores of 51 in each component
