We work with industry experts and our accrediting bodies to ensure that we develop students' knowledge and skills needed in the workplace. Working with other engineering specialists on challenging and rewarding projects builds experience that mirrors industry. Placements and guest lectures provide valuable professional insight and networking opportunities. This course is accredited by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE).
During your foundation year lectures, laboratory classes, tutorials and seminars provide a varied learning environment. In your first degree year, a major design project will familiarise you with the course and your colleagues and you will be given an introduction to mechanical engineering. During Year 2, subjects including management, aeronautical computer-aided design and modelling are introduced. After Year 2, you can develop your experience by opting to take an industrial placement year. The final year comprises specialist options and a major individual project which is often supported by industry.
