Course summary
This course will give you the practical skills, specialist knowledge and work experience to help you start or develop your career in the Animal Management industry. Whether you are already working in the industry and want to take the next step in your career, or you are just beginning your professional life, this course gives you a unique blend of academic study, work based learning and skill development that will help you get ahead. You will study many aspects of animal care and welfare, from anatomy, physiology and animal behaviour, to veterinary medicine and animal nutrition. All of your knowledge will be put into practice in the work placement module, where you'll produce a portfolio of professional work to demonstrate the experience you've gained. The course is very practical, so you get lots of first-hand experience to compliment and reinforce your classroom lectures. Experts from the field of animal care deliver guest lectures, and you'll take part in educational visits, discussion forums and group work.
