This course is a general non-specialist business pathway which will allow you to complete a higher education qualification without committing to a particular professional specialism. The course aims to provide you with a sound understanding of the knowledge and skills across a range of disciplines including Marketing, Human resources, Management, Law and Finance. Students would either progress onto university to top up to a degree and specialise at this stage or gain employment and pursue professional qualifications. Careers linked to this qualification include: Financial Advisor, Business Manager, Human Resources Manager, Sales and Promotions Marketing Executive, or Paralegal. If you are not yet clear on your ultimate career pathway then this is an ideal qualification designed to develop high level skills leading to a range of employment opportunities.
The units offered cover a range of business-related skills and will enable you to decide on your preferred career specialism. They will include: • Marketing essentials • Human resource Management • Management and operations • Management accounting • Business Law • Organisational behaviour In addition to the vocational units the course will include two projects. In the first year you will be asked to manage a business project requiring you to undertake research, demonstrate well informed decision making and solve problems. In the second year will be asked to undertake a research project which will draw on the areas of study across the two years.
The course is assessed purely through assignments and the research project
