Why Photography: Editorial and Advertising? Our Photography: Editorial and Advertising degree enables you to develop the creative skills, professional know-how and industry contacts for a successful career in photography. You’ll explore moving and still image and develop retouching skills, covering genres from fashion to music, sports to food, interiors to celebrity, beauty to travel and more. With opportunities to gain experience on placements with magazines and newspapers such as ‘InStyle’, ‘Mail on Sunday’, ‘The Guardian’, ‘Vanity Fair’ and ‘Vogue’, our graduates stand out from the competition. There is also the chance to work on live briefs from global brands such as Converse, AllSaints, SHOWstudio, lululemon athletica, and Superdry. You’ll draw on the expertise of experienced lecturers and learn from leading professionals, including photographers who have worked for ‘Vogue’, ‘Tatler’ and Getty Images. You can gain valuable insights through meeting and assisting professional photographers and exhibiting work to high-profile creative employers, in locations such as London, Milan, New York, Shanghai and Vancouver (additional costs may apply, see course page for details). Working in our professional studios, you’ll take advantage of industry-standard cameras, lighting equipment, darkrooms and digital suites, as well as state-of-the-art software such as Capture One Pro, Photoshop and Premiere Pro. The course also benefits from accreditation with ScreenSkills and affiliation with AOP (the Association of Photographers), as well as being awarded AOP's Course of the Year 2021. The course incorporates all forms and genres of still and moving-image making – from fashion to music, sports to food, interiors to celebrity, beauty to travel, and more. Develop your own industry-facing portfolio, to gain live commissions while studying. Learn from leading industry professionals and gain high-profile professional contacts. Benefit from well-equipped studios, traditional darkrooms, black and white printing equipment, an open-access digital suite with Macs, and Canon and Nikon DSLR's.
