Course summary
This is a Connected Degree Portsmouth is the only University in the UK with the flexibility to choose when to do an optional paid placement or self-employed year. Either take a placement in your third year, or finish your studies first and complete a placement in your fourth year. You can decide if and when to take a placement after you've started your course. Overview To be a business leader you need to understand how to run a business and how to make financial decisions that will keep your business profitable. Our BA (Hons) Economics and Management degree will give you the skills and knowledge to do both. You'll have the edge in the employment market when you graduate with a broad understanding of the core elements of business such as managing people, accounting, and operations management, as well as a deep understanding of how economic issues impact management practices and how data shapes decision making. If you choose to take a paid placement, you’ll have the chance to apply your new economic management knowledge in the workplace and graduate with a year of industry experience. Past students have worked at companies like the Office for National Statistics, Amazon, or the Department for Energy and Climate Change. Course highlights
