Course overview
- Our MA in Physical Education and School Sport is suitable for existing professionals within the sports and education industry and those with an appropriate undergraduate qualification who aspire to a career in the area of physical education and school sport.
- The ever changing and complex nature of this area means that there is a need for high quality, effective managers and leaders with the knowledge and capabilities to drive evolving education and community initiatives.
- Consequently, the main emphasis of the programme is placed on developing a range of intellectual, professional, managerial and transferable attributes that are essential for the modern educationalist.
- The modules have been carefully devised using several industry partners to develop cognitive skills in areas relevant to physical education and school sport.
- In line with government policy our subject is seeking to further professionalise and become a master’s level industry offering high quality experiences to all students.

Entry requirements
Students require a good honours degree (or equivalent) in which a major part of their studies has incorporated aspects of sports. Other graduates who can demonstrate a commitment to the study of sport or who have significant experience in the sport industry will also be considered for entry. A satisfactory Criminal records declaration (DBS/Disclosure Scotland) is required for this course
