Course summary

The new composition pathway gives students the means to enjoy a professional career as a composer, arranger, and sound artist in a range of different contexts. This pathway gives students the opportunity to specialise in a range of different areas, focused around the developing music and media industries. In addition to this, students will work with other disciplines to write music to briefs, arrange music for ensemble, develop installations, place music for television, film, games and digital media. The course begins by setting a solid foundation surrounding theoretical, conceptual, and technological aspects of music composition. As students progress through the course, students will learn a range of different skill sets through our annually updated skills units, featuring industry masterclasses, cutting edge techniques, and forward looking approaches to composition in the music industry.
