On this course, you’ll explore the relationships between mathematics, data science and statistics. You’ll:

  • gain a thorough grounding in theories and techniques – from the foundations to the forefront of research
  • use industry-standard software such as MATLAB, Python and R
  • develop your analytical and modelling skills.
You’ll benefit from the expertise of our faculty. Our research is making a world-changing impact in areas ranging from smart materials and predicting floods, to the behaviour of queues, social networks and infectious disease control. Our computer scientists lead national and international research projects on machine learning, natural language processing and artificial intelligence. An academic adviser will guide you throughout your degree. You’ll have opportunities to engage with potential employers. Alongside your data analysis skills, this will help you gain the confidence needed for your chosen career. When you graduate, you’ll be prepared for a wide range of careers including:

During your integrated Masters year, you’ll develop new skills and apply them to an advanced research project.
