Course summary
The BA Sports Management degree is designed for those students with a strong interest in becoming experts in the business and management of sport. The programme will develop your understanding sport as a unique business, and will equip you with the skills and knowledge that will help you on the path towards a professional career in the sports industry. In your three years with us, we will look at the aspect of the management of global sports events such as the FIFA World Cup, and the delivery of sport to local communities. Our programme was designed with the input of local and national sports businesses so we know that the skill and knowledge you gain will be relevant to the sports industry in which you would like to work. To make your experience even more relevant, you will be working with local and national sports organisation during your assessment tasks. Your experience of real-life issues will be further reinforced through a 6 week micro-placement; and the opportunity to extend this into a full year's work placement at the end of year 2, with some students participating in an American exchange option.
Qualified teacher status (QTS)
To work as a teacher at a state school in England or Wales, you will need to achieve qualified teacher status (QTS). This is offered on this course for the following level:
