Course summary
Developed with and accredited by the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), our BA (Hons) Marketing Management degree at Cardiff Met ensures you gain the latest industry knowledge and practical skills with our industry-aligned curriculum. Our CIM ‘Accredited Degree’ and ‘Employability Programme’ status not only helps you to develop crucial employability skills, but also provides you with the opportunity to gain exemptions from CIM Certificate and Diploma in Professional and Digital Marketing qualifications. Marketing is the heartbeat of every successful organisation – it’s how businesses connect with people. In today’s fast-paced world, marketing goes beyond just promoting services or selling products. It’s about building a brand that leaves a lasting impression and really sticks with people. We'll equip you with the latest marketing tools and techniques to create innovative marketing campaigns, giving you a deep understanding of today’s global marketing trends and challenges. Our degree gives you flexibility to specialise in areas of interest through a selection of optional modules in your second and final year. This includes the option of researching, writing and presenting a Marketing Plan and working with a real-world organisation to address specific marketing issues. You will also develop the adaptability and strategic thinking skills essential for senior management roles within the marketing industry, ensuring you are industry ready and resilient to tackle the ever-changing market demands. Get hands-on with specialist industry software and put theory into practice during your Marketing in Practice module in your second year. Our lecturers, who are both research-active and industry-experienced, will teach you the key skills you need for the workplace after graduation. You will have the opportunity to join our ‘Met Marketers’ society and CIM Student chapter to engage in creative and entrepreneurial activities. Take on the global CIM The Pitch competition and tackle a real-life marketing challenge set by a leading charity, where top finalists get the chance to pitch their ideas directly to the client. We offer this degree with two study options. You can choose three years full-time or four years full-time which would include a one-year industry placement between years two and three that will give you hands-on experience in a real-life working environment. This year in industry gives you practical skills that many employers seek, giving you a competitive edge upon graduation.
