Course summary
The Model Design Programme uniquely, has a combined first year covering model making, prop making, sculpture and special effects. Second and third year students specialise in one of three-degree pathways: Character and Creative Effects, Model Effects, Special Effects. Design and creative problem-solving underpins all aspects of the programme. Traditional workshop machinery and cutting-edge technologies including; CAD, 3D printing, laser cutting and CNC machining. Specialist facilities for sculpting, moulding and casting. Very close contacts with industry, which provide outstanding work experience opportunities and collaborative projects. Industry professionals teaching across all three pathways and leading visiting lecturers currently working in the creative industries. Consistently high graduate employment figures in the following areas; film, TV, architecture, exhibit, product prototyping, Formula 1.
