South Thames College Group (inc Carshalton, South Thames and Kingston College) has opted into the TEF and received a Bronze award.
This course prepares you for a career in business management. Understanding what makes businesses successful and how to respond to market forces can make you employable in lots of different industries. We have a programme of speakers who are experts in their field to give you an oversight of different business practices. One of your assignments will also involve a project in a established business. A useful qualification in its own right, the HNC is also a stepping stone towards a full degree.
Units covered in this one-year course include: The business environment; Managing financial resources and decisions; Organisations and behaviour; Marketing principles; The internet and e-business; Aspects of contract and negligence for business; Personal and professional development; Managing HR.
Assessment will be by vocationally oriented practical assignments, carried out alone or in small groups.

Students from outside the UK may be required to demonstrate their level of English by providing proof of an English language certificate or other qualification. The approximate guideline minimum English level required for entry at level 4 is "B2" on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
