OVERVIEW Photography at Norwich University of the Arts provides opportunities to develop a highly personal, unique and creatively aspirational practice, whilst giving you the practical skills and understanding to apply your creative vision to a range of contexts within the creative and cultural industries. The course champions personal practice and you will develop this highly individual creative identity while acquiring a deep understanding of technical craft skills, along with a comprehensive understanding of approaches to contemporary photography. DIPLOMA IN CREATIVE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT The Diploma in Creative Professional Development offers undergraduate students the chance to spend a year between Year 2 and 3 of their course exploring their employability options through a structured programme of input sessions and work-based learning. The aim of the course is to provide you with an opportunity to gain industry insight, develop your employability skills through a series of supported experiences, expand your network and build your confidence in the workplace. YOUR FUTURE Graduates progress to a range of different roles within the creative industries. Within the course structure many students begin assisting alongside their studies, this is often the first destination for graduates who work as general photographer’s assistants, digital assistants or studio assistants. Graduates may become photographers or artists in their own right immediately after completing their course. Many photographers and artists work on a freelance basis, and this is supported within the course by the Business and Employability team. Students have received awards from the AOP, D&AD, Eizo, Canon, British Journal of Photography, Lens Culture Portrait Awards, PhotoNorth and Portrait of Britain. Assessment method

The University assesses you through the coursework you produce as you complete each unit. Each unit will require you to present a portfolio of work which may include finished pieces of work, written work, your research, and a reflective journal which allows you to evaluate your learning and highlight your strengths and areas for further development. Your application will be primarily assessed through your portfolio, responses to questions asked and personal statement, so even if you have no formal qualifications or do not meet our typical offers it can still be worth applying. If you are studying at the time of your application and your application is successful it is likely that you will receive a conditional offer. If the qualification that you are studying is not shown, do not worry as we are able to accept other pre-entry qualifications as well as combinations of different qualifications.
