Hartpury University has opted into the TEF and received a Gold award.
This degree is the first of its kind in the UK. It’s ideal for those who are fascinated by the human-animal relationship and would like to work to further the therapeutic benefits of this relationship. You’ll explore the role that animals have in enriching human lives – as pets or in zoos, farms and conservation contexts and understand the impact those roles may have on the animals involved. We have over 70 animal species on site for students to learn with. You’ll graduate ready to make a difference in an exciting and expanding employment industry. You’ll study how humans can influence the wellbeing of animals and vice versa. You’ll learn to manage, protect and promote these relationships to enhance people’s lives, animal welfare and the environment. There are also opportunities to gain industry experience on-campus in our commercial animal therapy centres as well as with our industry partners in Gloucestershire, across the UK and internationally. Graduate destinations could include working in the charity sector, lecturer or researcher, animal keeper or educational roles in zoos or wildlife centres, and animal welfare roles. Studying an animal degree will also give you the transferable skills you need for other graduate careers.
