Overview Our Joint Honours degree develops your linguistic skills and knowledge in communication, contemporary society and culture whilst allowing you to acquire the skills to work in today’s reporting environments. Studying Journalism at Worcester equips you with the skills to build a career in newspapers, magazines, TV, radio or online and build a writing specialism. English Language at Worcester allows you to see how language shapes our worlds, brings thoughts to life and forms our identities through linguistic and stylistic choices. This can be used to shape your journalistic style. Key features
- State-of-the-art facilities, including our broadcasting suite officially opened by BBC’s Nick Owen.
- Excellent work placement opportunities, developed in collaboration with local organisations, including the BBC.
- Students are taught by experienced, trained and practising journalists and also benefit from an exciting programme of guest lecturers from within the industry.
- Clear focus on the socio-cultural aspects of language use and an emphasis on the development of research skills with opportunities to present research outcomes through a student conference in the final year.
