How You Learn All our courses are designed around a set of key principles based on engaging you with the world, collaborating with others, challenging you to think in new ways, and providing you with a supportive environment in which you can thrive. The course will use your experience to work through a range of business simulations. You’ll develop your professional marketing skills with a team of tutors who have a wealth of professional marketing and academic experience. You learn through:

In this course, you’ll acquire academic knowledge and apply skills related to international marketing. You’ll study modules on understanding markets, relationship marketing, global brand management, marketing decision-making, international consumer behaviour, digital marketing, international consultancy project, research methods and entrepreneurial marketing & innovation. These modules will introduce you to key concepts of marketing and skills – such as marketing decision-making and critical thinking in international contexts – providing you with a strong foundation to fulfil your potential. You will be supported in your learning journey through a number of key areas. These include:
  • access to our specialist support services to help with your personal, academic and career development
  • access to our Skills Centre with one-to-ones, webinars and online resources, where you can get help with planning and structuring your assignments
  • industry-specific employability activities such as live projects, learning in simulated environments and networking opportunities
This course is delivered face-to-face over three semesters - teaching is scheduled based on the length of your course and the academic calendar. Applied learning Work placements: You’ll be able to choose a work experience route where you source your own placement to complete during the course. This option runs parallel to the more traditional, full-time non-work experience route. By successfully completing either route, you’ll achieve an MSc International Marketing. Live projects: As part of your learning experience, you’ll complete a marketing consultancy project with a real-world business. Here you’ll be able to apply your learning to a live marketing case. The opportunity to visit and communicate regularly with a company will be particularly beneficial to you from the point of view of business engagement and real-life practical experience.

As a result, selections may be limited to a choice between one of two or more specified electives in some instances. Modules studied may differ depending on when you start your course. COMPULSORY MODULES: Digital Marketing, Dissertation, Entrepreneurial Marketing And Innovation, Global Brand Management, International Consultancy Project 1, International Consumer Behaviour, Marketing Decision Making, Relationship Marketing, Research Methods, and Understanding Markets.

Entry requirements

Normally you need one of the following: an honours degree; or equivalent professional qualifications. In exceptional circumstances, we consider candidates without formal qualifications who demonstrate the necessary experience, intellect and motivation. ENGLISH LANGUAGE QUALIFICATIONS: Overseas applicants from countries whose first language is not English must normally produce evidence of competence in English. For this course (non-work experience route), the standard for non-native speakers of English is an IELTS score of 6.0 with 5.5 in all skills (or equivalent). If your English language skill is currently below an IELTS score of 6.0 with a minimum of 5.5 in all skills we recommend you consider a Sheffield Hallam University Pre-sessional English course which will enable you to achieve an equivalent English level.

Additional fee information

Our tuition fee for UK students on full-time undergraduate degree courses in 2025/26 is £9,535 per year. These fees are regulated by the UK government and therefore subject to change in future years. During your placement year you will pay a reduced fee of £1,200. If you are studying an undergraduate course, postgraduate pre-registration course or postgraduate research course over more than one academic year then your tuition fees may increase in subsequent years in line with Government regulations or UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) published fees.
