Course summary

This award is aimed at those individuals who hold a relevant level 5 award and who wish to develop their interest in livestock production. The farmed animal can be complex, with supporting needs that address the way in which the animal is managed to maximise production, when required, in a range of very diverse systems. This course aims to provide the student with an understanding of possible contributors to production performance; thereby enabling the individual to contribute positively to the agricultural industry. The development of excellent communication skills will be a key graduate attribute for students who have undertaken this award.

Qualification requirements

Admission is based on the consideration of both the academic and practical background of the applicant. The requirement is for a 240 credit academic qualification relevant to Animal Science and Livestock Production, recognised by the Qualifications Framework. This will include any Level 5 Diploma of Higher Education or Foundation Degree in Animal Studies/Management, or the equivalent study in international qualifications.
