Course summary

This course has been designed with and will be part delivered by Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) and the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS). The course has been structured to deliver a programme of study, which provides graduates of a cognitive degree with the core technical knowledge and skills leading (subject to RICS accreditation) to Chartered membership of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). A particular emphasis is placed on issues relating to the financing and investment of property and whilst not a requirement there is an expectation that the dissertation will look into these subjects. This programme aims to impart practical and theoretical understanding of real estate finance and investment, valuation, appraisal, development and management which will allow students to examine critically current practice and apply, at an advanced level, contemporary theory and techniques to issues that face property professionals.

Assessment method

We assess your work through a variety of coursework assignments, including essays, reports, surveys and presentations. We also encourage you to do 'formative work' to prepare for assessment. This does not count towards final marks, but the feedback you receive helps improve your performance.

Entry requirements

A Bachelor's degree with the British equivalent degree grade of 2.2 or better. Applications are also welcome from applicants without the conventional entrance requirements but who have substantial relevant work or other experience and whose motivation and skills would enable them to succeed on the course.
