Course summary

This MA is for you if culture, technology, power and business excite and intrigue you. You study cultural industries, institutions, texts, identities and practices from a critical perspective. You’ll explore the meaning of culture as politics and philosophy, and also:

  • explore cultural innovation, promotion and value in a fast-changing world
  • understand how business, technology and the law are redefining cultural practices today
  • gain professional skills needed by cultural and creative organisations in the private and public sectors.
Our careers team will support you with your application for placements. The vibrant city of Brighton & Hove is a hub for cultural, creative and activist enterprise. We understand that deciding where and what to study is a very important decision. Entry requirements

You should normally have a lower second-class (2.2) undergraduate honours degree or above. Your qualification should be in media, film or another relevant social sciences or humanities subject. You may also be considered for the course if you have other professional qualifications or experience of equivalent standing.
