This course is specifically designed for students with appropriate existing qualifications (such as HND or Foundation degree) in Hospitality, Tourism or allied subjects to continue their studies to degree level. It develops graduates with the managerial skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in these dynamic and challenging international industries. As well as gaining a better understanding of hospitality and tourism management, you will be guided in developing your ability to evaluate and analyse and to apply your knowledge in innovative ways. Alongside the core units, you'll have the opportunity to choose two option units, allowing you to tailor your degree around your career goals and aspirations. You will study strategy and leadership in hospitality and create a dissertation, along with selecting two optional units from a variety of options including; tourism issues and futures, digital marketing, financial management, food, culture and travel, tourism and hospitality design and entrepreneurship and SME management.

Each application will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Deferred entry: We are happy to consider eligible applicants for deferred entry. If you have already submitted your application, you can request a deferral by contacting our Admissions Team. Direct entry: We welcome applications from students who have previously studied at degree level at other institutions and wish to transfer onto a BU course. Our Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) procedure enables credit awarded from one institution to contribute to a BU award, subject to an application process. Mature applicants: We recognise that mature applicants may have a wealth of experience rather than formal qualifications, so we’ll consider your application on these merits if included in your application. You’ll need to apply to BU in the usual way through UCAS and you may be invited to an interview to discuss your suitability for the course based on the experience you tell us about in your application.
