Course summary

The BSc Biomedical Sciences with integrated foundation (3 years) is taught on the Crewe campus awarding graduates of this course a BSc (Hons) in Biomedical Sciences degree. Biomedical science focuses on how cells, organs and metabolic systems function in the human body. Through this understanding of health and disease processes, new treatments and therapies can be created or developed, contributing to necessary advances toward solving significant health problems facing today’s society. The University has, in partnership with Apollo Hospitals Group, acquired the former Manchester Metropolitan University’s campus at Crewe, Cheshire (subject to contract). The campus is a short, ten minute walk from the train station and off Junction 16 of the M6 motorway. The main campus is 40 acres and includes all the facilities of a modern university campus. English Language requirements: it is very important that your English level is of a good standard for you to be successful in your studies. All applicants must achieve specific requirements in all four components (listening, reading, speaking and writing). Qualification requirements

This 3 year BSc Biomedical Science (including integrated Foundation) course may be suitable for you if you: •Are a UK student who has not taken the usual entry qualifications for a medical or dental degree programme (i.e. you do not have A-levels in Biology and Chemistry or have not achieved the required grades at the first attempt). •Are a student with at least 12 years of schooling from their home country. •Are a suitably experienced mature student (i.e. an individual who has been working in a non-science environment and would like a change of career, or would like to refresh your scientific background). •Are an international student with good high school grades.

English language requirements

If English is not your first language we will ask you to obtain a recognised qualification, such as IELTS or TOEFL. The required IELTS level for this course is 5.5 overall (or equivalent) for international students with 5.5 in reading and 5.0 in listening and speaking.
