Course summary

Our approach to Human Resource Management is designed to provide a supportive setting in which you can develop holistic skills that will enable you to flourish in a changing business environment. The focus on Human Resource Management combines with Business Management to allow you to explore a range of business and management themes. This programme is about enabling you to acquire the skills and experience necessary to flourish in a challenging business environment. Our methods are different to many other universities as the majority of learning takes place in group workshops, in an interactive, participative environment. Modules are designed to be active and experiential so that the skills and knowledge you develop can be implemented in realistic settings. You will explore a range of topics such as HRM, leadership, management, marketing, finance, operations management, entrepreneurship and market research to provide you with a strong foundation of both HR and business management needed by employers today. This degree will teach you management fundamentals to deal with today’s complex and changing business landscape. It will also develop your people management focus should you decide to progress your career in HRM and extend your studies further to gain full Chartered Institute of Personnel Development (CIPD) accreditation. On this course you will: -Explore various business and human resource management topics, tactics, opportunities, challenges and solutions. -Specialise in human resource management. -Complete projects with real business clients. -Be able to complete a 1-year and/or 10-week placement providing valuable work experience. -Develop valuable soft skills like teamwork, communication, time management and problem solving. -Have the opportunity to take part in events and activates including trips, events and business forums. We have recently obtained CMI accreditation for BA (Hons) Business and Human Resource Management which provides you with assurance that our degrees meet current employer requirements of aspiring managers. In addition to your degree, you will be eligible to achieve the Level 5 Diploma or Certificate in Management on graduation at no extra cost or work, if you satisfactorily complete mapped modules. Research shows that CMI accreditation improves your employability within a graduate level job and if you are interested in a management career, this qualification can improve your potential of securing a first level management position. You can apply for ‘Chartered Manager’ status on graduation to improve your management career potential.
