Part of City, University of London, Bayes is ranked amongst the top 6 business schools in the UK* and 4th best in London for Business and Management Studies**. The Business with Finance pathway combines a business management degree with the opportunity to gain a deep understanding of finance. This degree is right for you if you want to pursue a career in the finance sector and you’re keen to apply a range of general management skills. The focus on finance makes you exceptionally well equipped to take your place in the finance operation of a large company or to work in the financial services sector. Equally it will prepare you for a financial career in any large or medium-sized business, where the combination of management skills and financial understanding make you an invaluable asset. You will gain a sound understanding of the various elements of running a business and managing an organisation, with a thorough grounding in finance. You will learn about financial markets and the finance processes within an organisation, but can also understand topics related to management and strategy in the context of the finance sector. You will study introductory modules in a wide range of business subjects, such as accounting, marketing, operations management and human resources. You will gain a good grounding in economics and econometrics and also have an opportunity to pursue more specialist elective subjects which could cover areas such as asset management and mergers and acquisitions. At Bayes we value sustainable, ethical business and we embed it into our curriculum. That's why we are also a member of the United Nation’s Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) initiative, meaning we are well placed to train the next generation of business leaders capable of managing the complex demands faced by business and society in the 21st century. Our entire suite of undergraduate business management programmes have been created to ensure ethical, social, environmental, cultural, and economic considerations are central to your preparation as future leaders in business. During your time on the Business with Finance pathway, you will choose from a range of professional experience modules so that when you graduate you are equipped with the knowledge and experience to make you an attractive candidate to employers. You will also take a career-focused module suitable for your chosen course to help you prepare for entering the job market. The BSc (Hons) Business with Finance pathway is available as a three-year degree, or four-year degree for those who wish to take up a one-year work placement sandwich option or to take a sandwich year studying abroad. The four-year degree offers excellent opportunities to gain relevant work experience to prepare you for your career, and to make contacts in the world of business. You also have the option to apply for a study abroad sandwich year at one of our highly-respected partner institutions across the world. In an increasingly globalised business environment this is excellent preparation for your future.
