Course summary

Our four-year BSc Business Management programmes share a generic first year, during which you will take seven compulsory modules from across the range of business disciplines, providing a broad understanding of business and management contexts and processes. This programme allows you to specialise in the area of Logistics and Operations Management. It reflects the evolution of the study of logistics from its original context of transport to its present setting of business logistics. The subject is now well established with a solid basis in theory and research and the programme has been designed to reflect developments in the business world where, when managing supply chain, the mode of transport is considered less important than the process. Will also provide students with the necessary business management skills and knowledge, both theoretical and practical, through the professional placement year, to take on responsible positions early in a variety of careers in various sectors of industry and commerce, and in various functional areas within organisations. Distinctive features Distinctive features of the course include:

  • The opportunity to study in a School that was ranked 6th in the UK for research quality and joint 1st for research environment in the 2014 Research Excellent Framework (REF)

  • The emphasis on independent learning in a research-led environment
  • The variety of modules on offer in a multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary School
