This Health and Social Care HND course is composed of theoretical and practical learning modules that underpin the core concepts of healthcare. The content taught is relevant to both current health care practice and the changing context of healthcare delivery, while reinforcing the impact of care delivery on patients, their families, carers and the wider healthcare sector. The aim of this course is to supply knowledgeable, enthusiastic and skilled individuals for employment and to support the delivery of health and social care within the NHS, Local Authority Services, private health provision, and third sector services. Your main study themes are: Key Influences in the Health and Social Care Sector: You will have a solid understanding of the roles, responsibilities and necessary skills required for practitioners working in the sector. You will know key influences on service delivery and care planning, such as legislation, partnerships and values that affect the provision of these services. Academic and Professional Skills for Health & Social Care: Throughout this programme, you will develop the required academic and professional skills needed to operate successfully within the health and social care sector. This includes research, development and innovation skills, communication, interpersonal, teamwork and leadership skills. Social Care Perspectives: This course examines the provision of social care and how it is changing to meet the needs of people within the economic constraints and demographic changes in contemporary society. The study of sociological theories will enable you to develop a critical awareness of the influence of society and social factors on the life chances of individuals and groups in society. Qualification requirements

All applications are considered on an individual basis and the whole application is reviewed which includes previous and predicted qualifications, experience, reference and your motivation to study the course. The University also accepts the BTEC Level 3 National Extended Certificate/BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma and BTEC Level 3 National Diploma/BTEC Level 3 Diploma for entry onto degree programmes, provided that they are studied in combination with other qualifications that are equivalent to three A2 Levels. This may include subject specific requirements where necessary.
