Course summary

The Community Coaching for England course provides students the opportunity for a specialised introduction to coaching in the UK landscape and different coaching functions. Students can gain a wide range of coaching knowledge linked to practical skills gained through research, independent study, directed study and workplace scenarios. Students can be involved in vocational activities that help them to develop behaviours (the attitudes and approaches required for a competence) and transferable skills. Transferable skills are those such as communication, teamwork, research and analysis, which can be highly valued in higher education and the workplace. By the end of the Level 4 course, students will have had the opportunity to develop their knowledge of the concepts of coaching in the UK, including subject-specific skills as well as general skills and qualities relevant to key areas in Sport and Exercise Science and Sports Coaching.

Tuition fees will remain unchanged for the duration of a student’s continuous enrolment. Additional Course Costs Sports kit - £130 (compulsory) DBS check - £48.20 (compulsory) Additional coaching courses (optional) - varying costs Additional compulsory course costs may be able to be paid for using the Career Degree Bursary. The scheme allows students to access the bursary (up to a maximum value of £500 for full-time or £250 part-time students) for additional optional courses, workshops, professional memberships and resources. There is no cash alternative. Students who wish to access opportunities in excess of the Career Degree Bursary may do so at full cost to themselves.

Sponsorship information

Additional compulsory course costs may be able to be paid for using the Career Degree Bursary. The Career Degree bursary was established in order to enhance our Higher Education students’ academic programme and support their studies - helping to make our students more employable, industry prepared and equipped for life as a graduate. A bursary of up to £500 for full-time students over the course of their programme to support any aspect of independent study or compulsory course specific costs. In addition, course coordinators will be allocated an additional payment to spend each academic year on enhancements that will support the development of employability skills and progression to graduate level employment.
