Course summary
This course leads to a professional qualification as a Counsellor. It integrates research-based counselling practice and humanistic theory to prepare you for counselling practice with people with diverse needs. Successful completion enables you to register as a counsellor with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). The course has a strong connection with counselling services in the regional community, which frequently provide work placement and employment opportunities.
Modules
Year 1 modules will include: Personal and professional development 1, Core theory and contemporary practice, and Life events, development and transitions. Year 2 modules will include: Personal and professional development 2, The reflective practitioner, and Mental well-being: theory, practice and research.
