This flexible course provides specialist business education over one year (full-time) or two years (part-time) and is delivered online with a nominated tutor to support you throughout with weekly lessons and tutorials. You will gain a thorough grounding in the key concepts and practical skills required to progress into employment or continued undergraduate studies. This qualification is designed to ensure that you build and improve your skills in the management of resources, decision making, analytical research, independent enquiry, reflective learning and creative thinking. The course can be studied alongside employment or other commitments however motivation and self-discipline will be key. During this course you will develop the breadth and depth of knowledge required by managers in today's society. You will consider the economic, financial and legal issues managers have to deal, along with the tools and techniques they use. The HND Business qualification is achieved after two years, and can be topped up to obtain a full degree. This Business Level 4/5 course is the equivalent to the first two years of a university degree, and offers a local approach to study, with close personal support available throughout your study. Links to real businesses and local employers make it suitable for those wishing to progress directly to employment or to university. On successful completion of the HND you will have the option to top up the qualification to a full Bachelor’s degree at Bedford College or another university or enter employment. You can also can join one of the many professional institutes and continue your studies through their examinations.

Assessment method
Pearson BTEC Higher Nationals in Business are assessed using a combination of: - centre developed internal assignments that are set and marked by centres, and - Pearson-set assignments, which are set by centres in line with our guidelines and graded by centres. Assessment takes the form of an assignment carried out after the unit (or part of the unit if several assignments are used) has been delivered. An assignment may take a variety of forms, including practical and written.

We also accept those with extensive knowledge and experience in the sector. If your first language is not English, learners should have a minimum of 6.0 IELTS.
