Course summary
For students wishing to continue studying after completing their HNC, the HND in Construction and The Built Environment provides a practical and academic challenge within the framework of current industrial practices in construction. It is designed to enhance the managerial and team leading skills of individuals who want to further their career in construction. Design, construction and maintenance aspects are covered including transferable skills of communication and numeracy. It is a natural progression route from the HNC Construction and The Built Environment (Construction) programme.
Modules
What will I study? All the units we offer have been chosen to meet a broad range of local industry needs. The programme has the following units: Group Project, Contracts & Management, Project Management, Management for Complex Buildings, Alternative Methods of Construction, Advanced Building Information Modelling, Alternative Energy Systems
Assessment method
All pathways will be by Assignment, and will combine, essays, with practical activities and filed trips to relate theory to practical and enable case studies to be used.
