East Riding College has opted into the TEF and received a Silver award.
This course is highly regarded in the civil engineering industry, giving you the opportunity to continue your studies to a higher level, and is aimed at people who are looking to progress their career away from “hands-on” work. It will give you the skills needed for technician posts throughout the built environment and civil engineering sector in areas such as structual design and civil engineering technology. After completing your higher national certificate, there is the option to top up to a higher national diploma, which is a level five qualification.
The course will cover the following units. Mandatory units: Individual project Construction technology Science and materials Construction practice and management Construction information Mathematics for construction Principles of structual design Special unit: Civil engineering technology
You will be assessed in a variety of ways, including written assignments, work-based practical assessment, portfolio development and presentations.
