Health and Care is changing in these unprecedented times. It has never been more important for the right people to get into the right jobs in the sector. You will need to be currently working as a Healthcare Support Worker or Healthcare Assistant to apply to this course. If you have the passion and drive to get into Nursing, Paramedic Science, Midwifery or any area of health training but need help gaining the right qualifications, this course is for you. This programme is run in conjunction with our health board and health organisation partners. It is designed to give you the opportunity to evidence the skills and competencies you display in your work. It is closely aligned with Nursing and Medical Council requirements. Modules
Year One – Level 4 (Cert HE) • Anatomy, Physiology and the Biopsychosocial Model of Health (20 credits; compulsory) • Communication and Integrated Working (20 credits; compulsory) • Fundamentals of Care (40 credits; compulsory) • Introduction to Research and Evidence-based Practice (20 credits; compulsory) • Personal and Professional Development for Nurses (20 credits; compulsory).
Assessment method
Assessments include; essays, reports, presentations, and professional portfolios. You will be asked to evidence your competencies and ability to meet skills requirements in the role you undertake as part of this course. You will be supported to utilise information technology communication and organisational skills for your assignments.
