Course summary
Across the disciplines of Film, Games, and Media; Animation skills are highly sought after. Studying for a BA Honours Degree in Animation at Warwickshire College University Centre you will embark upon acquiring an Animation Skills Framework which will allow you to go forward and work either solely or collaboratively in this creative industry. You will not only learn the latest technical skills in order to be industry ready but you will learn integral supporting creative skills in visual communication, life drawing, collaborating, and innovations and trends in Animation. For your BA in Animation with us, you will begin by learning the principles of animation, using 2D and 3D software, live drawing, communicating creative ideas and capturing human behaviour and the mechanics of movement through your own artistic visions. This will be unified with visual storytelling techniques, and all skills and techniques will work to underpin the creation of an animation pipeline. You will then go on to; learn the techniques involved in sound design, model making and advanced storytelling techniques which requires an understanding of the contemporary screen and the differing digital platforms for exhibiting your creations. Finally; you will investigate what is trending in the animation industry and career pathways alongside specialising through a final Capstone project. All we ask of you is to bring your imagination and creative flair, be experimental and push boundaries in creativity. If you feel that you have this vocational calling, then this is the course for you. The Awarding Body for this course is subject to approval.
