This course is accredited by the University of Warwick OVERVIEW International hospitality is a challenging and dynamic industry offering a wide range of exciting employment opportunities. Our Hospitality with Tourism Management postgraduate course combines study of these sectors to open the doors to a variety of career paths, from hotel, resort and attractions management to meetings and events, tour operations and travel consultancy. Our hospitality and tourism course offers two different study pathways to suit your previous qualifications and experience. If you are new to these industries and do not already have related qualifications, Pathway A will introduce you to managing the operational aspects of hospitality while incorporating the study of related tourism and events environments. Alternatively, if you already have an undergraduate degree in hospitality or tourism management, Pathway B will focus on teaching you long-term strategic development of hospitality operations and equip you to engage in continuing development using a broad range of skills. In addition, you will have the chance to travel to a European destination for a residential study trip, with the essential costs covered by University College Birmingham. On our hospitality and tourism master’s course, there is also the option of taking on a placement for three to six months, boosting your experience to help you get your foot in the door of tourism and hospitality organisations. FACILITIES Students on our postgraduate courses have exclusive access to our dedicated postgraduate suite in McIntyre House, providing study and meeting spaces, PCs and other facilities. PLACEMENTS Our master's course offers the option of a work placement for three to six months. You will be supported by our experienced Hired employability team to identify the kind of placement you want, with options available around the UK and overseas. Employers we have worked with include Wequassett Resort and Golf Club (USA), Westin Hilton Head Island Resort and Spa (USA), Pushkar (Birmingham), Marriott (Birmingham), Amber Hotel (London) and Hotel Dream Gran Tagoro (Lanzarote). Note: Students on the PGDip course, or those planning to top-up from a PGDip to a master's degree, will not be eligible for a placement during the course. Assessment method

For the most up-to-date information, please refer to our website: www.ucb.ac.uk TEACHING AND ASSESSMENT Lectures, seminars and fieldwork will provide opportunities for you to explore concepts relevant to your study. You will also be analysing case studies as a way to understand the link between theory and sector practice. You will be assessed in a variety of ways to encourage you to develop a range of skills. These include essays and reports, investigative fieldwork, case study analysis, presentations and simulation using industry-specific software. Our teaching and assessment is underpinned by our Teaching, Learning and Assessment Strategy 2021-2024.

**Masters Entry Requirements** - A good UK honours degree (minimum 2:2), or international equivalent, in any/relevant subject. - We will also consider your application if you have significant, relevant experience (3-5 years) with degree-equivalent professional qualification. - English Language - IELTS Score of 6.0 with no less than 5.5 in each component **Postgraduate Diploma Entry requirements** - A minimum of a third –class honours degree - An equivalent overseas degree from a recognised institution - We will also consider an equivalent professional qualification - English Language - IELTS Score of 6.0 with no less than 5.5 in each component
