Teaching takes place at the Parkgate Road campus. Our combined Biology course offers a range of subjects and unique experiences due to close partnerships with organisations such as Chester Zoo and other leading institutes, industries and charities. We supplement classroom learning with opportunities for work placements or fieldwork. There are also opportunities to take part in exciting laboratory-based research. The Department of Psychology at Chester offers both Single Honours and Combined Honours degrees. Many Psychology departments offer Single Honours degrees accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS). However, Chester is unusual in that it also offers accredited Combined Honours degrees for students who major in Psychology. A Psychology degree from Chester will equip you with a broad range of employability skills, including literacy, numeracy, critical appraisal, data handling, communication, and logical problem-solving skills. If you are interested in a career in psychology, there are specialist routes through the course where you can take relevant elective modules at each level.

Assessment method
For psychology assessment methods for each module vary, but usually include coursework and examinations. The coursework may involve a traditional essay or, more commonly, a workshop task, presentation, or a case study. Assessments are designed to develop your employability skills as well as allowing you to show your understanding of psychology. For Biology assessment consists of coursework and end-of-module examinations (typically 50:50 in a module). Coursework can include practical reports, fieldwork, extended essays, presentations, posters or seminars.

Applicants must also have GCSE Maths at grade C/4 or above and GCSE English at grade C/4 or above. PLEASE NOTE: We cannot consider GCSE equivalencies but can consider the Edge Hill University GCSE Equivalency Test. A Level General Studies accepted; Welsh Baccalaureate accepted alongside A Levels/BTEC/OCRs
