Our philosophy, which is endorsed by the Media Industries, is that you will be best prepared for a career if you can develop and demonstrate the necessary technical skills of media production as well as a creative understanding of the theories and concepts of the communication industries. This course provides a broad skill-based approach across a range of media. Broadcast Production This degree belongs to our suite of creative media joint honours programmes, giving you the chance to study this subject alongside one other and giving you a qualification tailored to your career goals. During this joint honours degree, you will learn using our TV and radio studios, filming equipment and dynamic editing suites. This course will provide you with production skills for television and radio, along with opportunities to develop skills vital for a career in the media industry. You will investigate areas such as outside broadcast, editing, lighting, scriptwriting, directing and more. You will have opportunities to express creative freedom during this course through creative projects and assignments. Film Production For those interested in the technical world of film production, this accelerated degree will immerse you in the film-making environment. During this course you will develop creative, practical and entrepreneurial skills which are vital in the film industry. You will focus on a diverse range of filmmaking practices, including film for the cinema, web and DVD/ Blu-ray media. You will explore both theory and production of drama and documentary, taking advantage of our TV studio and filming equipment. This degree can provide a foundation for a career in film direction, production, or editing.
