Our experienced Art and Design staff can help you plan your unique degree combining two specialisms from fine art, photography, graphic design, animation, illustration, fashion, textiles and surface design. With purpose-built facilities, strong links with arts organisations and industry and a supportive environment, the University of Bolton offers a great canvas for you to develop your creative potential. Our BA (Hons) Art and Design degree is as unique as you are. With personalised guidance from our experienced and supportive staff, you can explore the interplay between your two chosen art and design disciplines, including fine art, photography, graphic design, animation, illustration, fashion, textiles and surface design. During your portfolio interview, we'll help you carefully plan a portfolio of modules, offering you a distinctive learning experience that lays the foundation for your professional practice as a working artist and designer and helps develop your creative identity. You’ll have opportunities to explore different art and design media, techniques and processes, and develop links that cross the traditional art and design boundaries. We encourage critical thinking so you can learn to evaluate, understand and draw inspiration from your own work and that of others in the light of changing historical, philosophical and cultural environments. Career and transferable skills are also essential to your future success so we aim to ensure you gain relevant experience towards running a small business enterprise, creative studio management and a wider knowledge of the arts sector.
