This programme is suited to you if you have completed a Level 3 IT or subject related course and are looking to progress your career within this sector. It's purpose is to develop you as a professional who is able to meet the demands of employers in the sector. The course will offer you a broad introduction to the subject as well as acquiring skills and experience. On successful completion of the course, you will demonstrate knowledge of the concepts of computing as well as transferable skills such as team working, organisation and problem solving strategies.
Modules may include: Programming; Networking; Professional Practice; Database Design & Development; Security; Managing a Successful Computing Project
The HNC in Computing and Systems Development will be taught through a variety of methods – lectures, self-directed and online learning, and scenario-based learning. You will be assessed via coursework assessments, and practical examinations.
Qualified teacher status (QTS)
To work as a teacher at a state school in England or Wales, you will need to achieve qualified teacher status (QTS). This is offered on this course for the following level:
