Assessment method

Assessment is via course work which includes essays, reports, practical observations and presentations. The assessment of Pearson's Higher National qualifications are criterion-referenced and you will provide evidence in the form of assignments, which are assessed against the unit learning outcomes and assessment criteria.

Qualification requirements

In order to study the Animal Management HNC Level 4, you will need to have a DM profile on an Animal Management BTEC Level 3 Diploma course, a MMP profile on the Animal Management BTEC Extended Diploma, an Access to Higher Education qualification, or an A Level equivalent or a related subject (minimum 80 new UCAS points); GCSEs in English, Maths and Science at grade 4 (C) or above, or Functional Skills Level 2 and/or minimum IELTS score of 6; and the ability to demonstrate meaningful work experience. Please note that individual cases will be considered.
