Course summary
The MSc Professional Practice degree offers a sound educational experience for UK and international health and social care practitioners. Its flexible structure and module choice enables you to create a programme that supports your professional practice and can be individually tailored. Suitable for experienced and inexperienced practitioners, the MSc Professional Practice is underpinned by the latest research, and aims to transform your practice, and improve the quality of care. It focuses on the professional development necessary for higher level practice and leadership roles. On successful completion, you will have gained an internationally recognised qualification that is designed to prepare nurses to take up posts within nursing services globally. There are three exit points – Postgraduate Certificate; Postgraduate Diploma and Master's level.
Modules
The MSc Professional Practice offers a wide choice of career pathways to qualified health and social care professionals, including nurses of all fields, health visitors, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, social workers and midwives. In consultation with the Programme Leader, you will devise an individual programme (180 credits) that meets your own needs. You will also have the flexibility to study at your own pace, finding a balance between work, education and everyday life. There are three exits points - Postgraduate Certificate (60 credits); Postgraduate Diploma (120 credits) and Masters (180 credits) level.
Assessment method
Assessment methods include written assignments mainly based on issues from practice, scenario based role plays and critical literature reviews.
Entry requirements
Applicants must normally have an Honours degree and be a professionally qualified health or social care professional. For international students, IELTs 6.5 or equivalent.
