Course summary

Get a grip on the digital marketplace with our Digital Marketing Management MSc. This course will enable you to deal with digital marketing strategies and stay one step ahead in a fast-growing industry. With Staffordshire University, you will deal with modern world issues and the solutions offered up by contemporary digital marketing strategies. Through expert guidance, you will gain both technical and critical evaluation skills, and the ability to apply the most up-to-date digital techniques using new and emerging software. This postgraduate course will offer you the opportunity to keep up-to-date with the capabilities of modern internet banners, paid ads, SEO techniques and digital analytics, also, you’ll cover the rising importance of social media campaigning within organisations. Inspired by the thinking of the Institute of Direct and Digital Marketing (IDM) and Charted Institute of Marketing (CIM) we’ve designed a curriculum with a strong professional and practical ethos. Meaning we can focus on your employability and continued professional development. On successful completion of study, we will issue the following award: MSc Digital Marketing Management Course content The flexible nature of this course will allow you the opportunity to explore specific aspects of digital marketing. In your first semester you will study four modules based around an advanced knowledge of the foundations of digital marketing: Scanning the Digital Environment, Strategic Marketing Communications and Media Management, Global Digital Consumer Behaviour and Experience, and Management Control and Internal Audit. After this you will tackle the content side of digital marketing and be given the knowledge to create a global digital marketing strategy. This will be taught in two modules: Content Curation and Development, and Global Strategic Digital Marketing Management. You will also take a Work Based Project Preparation module to set you up you for your final semester There's more, you'll end your course with the Co-creation with Brand Communities and Masters Work Based Project modules. The project module will provide you with the opportunity to focus on an live issue that is relevant to your workplace or placement. This will culminate in you leaving with experience, as well as knowledge, to help forward your career.

Assessment method

There are two types of assessments: practice (also called formative) or formal (also called summative). Practice assessments do not count towards your final mark. These are your chance to test your understanding – and learn how to improve for the real thing. You’ll have formal assessments at the end of each module. These could include essays, exams, or portfolios.


Entry requirements

You will usually have achieved a 2:2 in a marketing, digital or business related subject with evidence of successful attainment of marketing modules. Alternatively you may have professional qualifications and/or experience, please enquire.
