Course summary

In this programme, you will follow a custom-tailored selection of mathematics courses, reflecting the current drive towards quantification in biology. Concurrently, you will specialise in one of two biological areas (evolutionary or systems biology), which reflect an organism-based or a cell-based approach to biology, respectively.

Scottish Higher AAAB - AAAA These grades must be achieved by end of S5. If you haven't achieved this by the end of S5 we may consider your application based on a strong performance in S6. A minimum of BBB must be achieved in one year of S4-S6. Required subjects: Higher: Mathematics at grade A, Biology and Chemistry. Advanced Highers in Mathematics and Biology are strongly recommended, and also in Chemistry if possible.
International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme 37 - 32 points Award of Diploma with 37 points with 666 at HL - 32 points with 655 at HL. Required subjects: HL: Mathematics (from 2021, Mathematics: Analysis and approaches only) at grade 6, Biology and Chemistry.

Scotland In 2019 the fee level set by the Scottish Government was £1,820. The 2020 fee rate is expected to be confirmed by the Scottish Government in early 2020. Students must apply to the Student Awards Agency Scotland (SAAS) for payment of their tuition fees. England/Wales/N Ireland The Rest of UK (RUK) rate is yet to be confirmed and was £9,250 for 2019 entry. For 2020 entry this may increase in line with inflation and will be subject to government limits. EU 2020 entry EU students will be admitted as Scottish/EU fee status students, will retain that status for the duration of their studies, and are eligible for tuition fee support from the Scottish Awards Agency for Scotland (SAAS).
