Course summary

User experience blends multidisciplinary skills and research methodologies to help design interactions between humans and objects – on this BSc (Hons) User Experience Design degree course at UCA Farnham you’ll learn how to make that happen. You’ll create websites, digital products and services, augmented reality, virtual and mixed reality experiences and design wearable technology as well as apps. This course will underpin the extensive development of your academic and theoretical knowledge of the global value and potential of user experience design. Your studies will focus on the fundamental principles and cornerstones of the industry, including user research, experience design, interaction design, visual design and information architecture. With access to our dedicated studios offering spaces for group tutorials and personal working, as well as on-campus digital media suites with Macs and PCs running the latest programmes for creativity, you’ll have everything you need to develop a broad skillset. You’ll design services and products both individually and in teams, build an industry-ready portfolio and get ready for a career in an area that has fast-growing job opportunities and scope. You will complete a Professional Practice Year as part of this course. This will give you the opportunity to develop your professional, academic and personal potential, equipping you to be confident and engaged in creative workplaces. Employers widely recognise these qualities, and a significant proportion of placement students are offered graduate-level jobs or go onto postgraduate study.

If you’re an EU student and studied a European qualification, we may accept the English Language score from your main qualification - please review your country from the list on our website to see whether we will accept it: https://www.uca.ac.uk/international-study/equivalent-qualifications/ If your qualification is not on this list, we accept the following English language qualifications: IELTS (overall score 6.0), TOEFL ibt (overall score 88), PEARSON PTE Academic (overall 55), Cambridge Proficiency Exam (overall score 169), Cambridge Advanced Exam (overall score 169). If you need a Tier 4 student visa to study in the UK, you will need to take an IELTS test, and achieve an overall score of 6.0 and a minimum score of 5.5 for each element (Listening, Reading, Speaking, Writing).
