If your goal is to work in Health and Social Care at Assistant Practitioner level (Band 4), this is the course for you. Our course promotes the ethos of lifelong learning and advances your sense of personal responsibility and commitment to your ongoing education and development, and it will prepare you to work as an efficient member of a multidisciplinary team. This course ensures that Assistant Practitioner students are able to respond to the constantly changing context within which health and social care policies are being implemented, and helps students to develop an appreciation that knowledge and understanding is acquired within an evidence-based framework. We offer placements covering a large geographical area that can include Cheshire, Merseyside and Shropshire.

Assessment method

The assessment strategies employed throughout the course are designed to ensure that students are exposed to a mix of assessment methods measuring both academic and clinical competence. The assessment methods include reports, presentations, short answer exams, case studies, projects, peer observations and reviews. The assessment of the practical learning is via Practice competencies, with the support of a Practice Mentor.
