University Centre Somerset - Bridgwater & Taunton College has opted into the TEF and received a Silver award.
The importance of agriculture and good to the nation has been clearly demonstrated over the last few years. Where the country gets its food and how it has been produced is becoming ever more complex and with it comes industry demand for qualified recruits. Agriculture and food are big business in the UK and abroad and once studied can be your passport into employment or further enrichment overseas. The two day full-time study structure will allow students to travel longer distances to travel with just one overnight stay. Part-time (one day) is also available. Both modes of study will enable students to continue in employment alongside study. On completion of the FdSc (two years full time), students can apply for a one year top-up to gain full Bsc (Hons). Industry links form a critical part of our course with regular visits, guest speakers and workshops from sector leaders. Successful completion of the Foundation Degree will provide you with the opportunity to progress and top-up your qualification to a BSc (Hons), the University Centre Somerset offers a University of Plymouth qualification; BSc (Hons) Agricultural Management Top-up. This course will prepare you well for employment in the industry in positions such as farm manager, rural surveyor, unit manager, farm contractor senior herdsman
