Course summary
Sport Ed Ex combines the provision of performance coaching and playing pathways in Rugby and Cricket for aspiring athletes (men and women) aged 18 and over with the opportunity to study at Richmond American University London, offering students the unique opportunity to study a wide variety of dual accredited (US/UK) undergraduate degree courses. This programme provides athletes with the opportunity to train, learn and perform in a professional and highly competitive environment supported by highly qualified coaches and tutors, strength and conditioning experts, sports psychologists, nutritionists, analysts and a medical team. Accounting and finance are more than crunching numbers. A role in either industry will prove both satisfying and challenging and also require strategic thinking. This programme is your opportunity to gain a major step towards a globally recognised accounting qualification with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), the global body for professional accountants. Our programme will give you a head start on professional accounting qualifications when you graduate with eight exemptions from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) professional examinations. ACCA is a globally recognised body for professional accountants. You will start this degree with an exploration of diverse topics. You’ll study statistics, economics, law and information technology to gain a truly solid understanding of the field. In the second year the programme goes on to explore managerial and financial accounting, looking at computer applications in management and calculus, to give you a thorough foundation in accounting processes and systems. Deepen your understanding of Taxation and Financial Reporting as well as specialising in topics of your choice, such as Wealth Management or Global Investor. You’ll also have the opportunity to undertake an internship in a leading financial or management organisation in London. Students who study this programme will gain exemptions from the ACCA qualification as follows: Business and Technology (BT), Management Accounting (MA), Financial Accounting (FA), Corporate and Business Law (LW), Performance Management (PM), Taxation (TX), Financial Reporting (FR) and Audit and Assurance (AA). These papers are previously known as F1, F2, F3, F4, F5, F6, F7 and F8. On completing this programme, students will also be able to apply for eight exemptions from The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), the world’s largest professional body of management accountants, entering into their Management Level. Graduates will be exempt from the certificate level (BA1 Fundamentals of Business Economics, BA2 Fundamentals of Management Accounting, BA3 Fundamentals of Financial Accounting and BA4 Fundamentals of Ethics, Corporate Governance and Business Law) and the operational level (E1 Managing Finance in a Digital World, P1 Management Accounting, F1 Financial Reporting, and the Operational Case Study Exam). Modules
We offer 4-year Liberal Arts and Business BA degrees. Students entering with A levels or other level 3 qualifications usually gain exemptions from courses in the Richmond Core Curriculum which can mean that you should be able to complete your degree in less than four academic years. The interdisciplinary Liberal Arts approach offers not just breadth but also depth of study and encourages students to make sounds judgments and think independently. A Liberal Arts education is one which encourages you to explore a wide range of subjects and programmes. It reaches across disciplines, building connections between different academic areas such as literature, science, mathematics, writing, business and psychology. Upon entry to Richmond University all students study the Liberal Arts Core Curriculum before specialising in their chosen field.
