Overview Prepare to be a leader in business with a Master’s designed for the business innovators of tomorrow. Good management means being able to see problems from every perspective, and understanding that there might not always be a single right answer. On this course you’ll study a range of business disciplines and learn to handle such complexities. You will study the science of management from an evidence-based perspective and discover what works in the field of management and why. You’ll learn to critically analyse existing theories, and develop and propose solutions of your own. This is a research-based Master’s so a background in business is essential. You might be coming straight from undergraduate study, or you may have worked in industry for a time since graduating. Many of our students have worked in - or aspire to go on to work in - their family businesses. To understand how to manage people, you need to understand their point of view and the context they are working in. For this reason you won’t just study management theory and practice, you’ll explore all the key business disciplines, including management, marketing, accounting, finance, operations, logistics, human resources, organisational behaviour, entrepreneurship, business creation and branding. You’ll gain a broad understanding of markets and how and why they work the way they do. You’ll learn from leading academics and practitioners in each field, immersing yourself in all aspects of business, learning something about everything and developing awareness of a diverse range of business issues. The broad focus of the course means you’ll graduate with the ability to see challenges from many perspectives. You’ll be able to generalise insights and techniques from one sector to another, as well as across regions, cultures and disciplines. You’ll also be able to see problems from the point of view of the different business areas. As a result you’ll be well placed to be a leader in your field. Throughout your studies you’ll be encouraged to approach your subject from a global perspective. Once you’ve built a firm foundation during your taught modules, you’ll begin your dissertation. Here you’ll be able to explore a problem of your choosing, with the guidance of an academic adviser. This could be something you’ve identified in your previous studies, or during your time working in industry. Assessment method

Assessment is based on the completion of a dissertation.

Entry requirements

At least a 2.1 Honours degree or higher. All applicants who are not a British national and/or whose first language is not English will need to demonstrate a suitable level of English language proficiency. This is equivalent to an IELTS 6.5 overall, with a minimum of 5.5 in all 4 components
