Course summary
Focus on the theoretical underpinning and practical application of strength and conditioning for performance and rehabilitation for diverse groups. Taught by our expert staff with input from industry professionals, you develop your learning from previous study. Various elements on the course are aligned with UKSCA (The Professional Body for Strength and Conditioning in the UK) accreditation pathway. You graduate able to:
- apply contemporary science to sports performance and rehabilitation
- apply coaching science in a performance and rehabilitation setting
- provide critical reasoning in the selection/ implementation of training/testing
- contribute effectively to a multidisciplinary team
- reflect critically on experiences and continually develop your practice.

Assessment method
Taught content is delivered through seminars, practical coaching sessions, workshops, and online lectures. Problem solving, group study tasks and experiential learning is undertaken within seminars and workshops to facilitate your learning. You complete written assessments, verbal presentations, a practical coaching session and a reflective video blog.
Entry requirements
Applicants should normally have a good honours degree (2.2 or above) in a related area, such as sport and exercise science, sports therapy or sports physiotherapy. Applicants with extensive relevant experience in an appropriate field and evidence of an academic contribution to that field may also be considered.
