This programme is designed for anyone who would like to learn more about management and leadership in health, social care and education. It will help to develop the necessary knowledge and analytical skills, as well as provide an overview of the organisational, legal and policy contexts within which leaders and managers operate with a focus on the challenges and opportunities faced in these sectors. This programme is developed to support the career progression of managers who are currently in managerial posts based in a range of sectors from health, social care and education. The programme design is suited to those in full time employment. The distance-learning mode of delivery supports those in full time employment but allows flexibility of access to materials. This mode of delivery suits managers who have not got the opportunity to access a local provider or who have other commitments which prevent their attendance at an institution Career progression is varied and may include: • Regional Manager • Social Services Manager, services manager and service development manager • Family Support Lead Practitioner • Centre Manager • Family Hub Manager • Lead Practitioner • Business Manager Upon completion of the Degree, Leadership and Management in Integrated Services, there is also the opportunity to progress to study at Masters level.
Modules
Level 6 Modules: Organisational Leadership Leading and Managing Organisational Change Developing a Resilient Workforce Integrated Services Extended Leadership and Management Project The programme will require approximately 12 hours a week of private study to access materials and engage in wider reading and research. Occasional changes to modules and course content may take place. Students will be notified when applicable.
Assessment method
Assessment Approach A range of assessment methods underpin the development of student transferable skills and make a positive contribution to the students’ learning experience. Assessment is both formative and summative. The diverse assessment strategies meet the varied needs of students and include: Academic Essays Presentations Reports linked to practice

Qualification requirements
Detail any academic requirements, plus equivalent professional/personal experience that we can also consider. 5 years' experience within the sector Level 5 study (HND/FdA or equivalent 240 credit points) in FdA or L5 in Health and social care, early years or social and community work. Accreditation of Prior Learning (APL) Applicants will come from a variety of different professional backgrounds which may include childminders; early years practitioners; support assistants working in either a mainstream or special school and teaching assistants working in the early years sector. This might be in a full time or voluntary capacity. Importantly applicants will have at least 5 years’ experience working in the sector prior to starting the course and be in a managerial role. Grade 4/C in GCSE English and mathematics is desirable but not essential. If you do not have these qualifications, you will still be accepted onto the programme. If you have been out of formal education for some time, and/or you do not have the qualifications stated, we might still be able to consider your application and offer you a range of support.
