Psychology with Foundation Year at Manchester Metropolitan University - UCAS

Course summary

Psychologists explore behaviour – the ways our minds work, how we think and interact with the world and why we react in the ways we do.  Our course covers a wide range of psychological study, from individual differences, personality and mental health, to biological and social psychology. Psychologists explore behaviour using scientific methods such as observation, experiments, and statistical analysis. On the course, you might be conducting experiments, debating against fellow students on how we motivate people to make healthy eating choices, or assessing case studies. We support our students to develop their natural curiosity, creating psychology graduates equipped to explore the human experience in an ethical, empathetic, and scientific manner.  Some of the topics you’ll study include the influence of biology and genetics on behaviour, perception, and memory, understanding mental illness, and the importance of ethical practice. The BSc (Hons) Psychology with Foundation Year provides a route onto a degree if you don't meet the entry requirements but have the ability to study a degree. At the end of your foundation year, you’ll have the option to transfer your study focus to Forensic Psychology, or Psychology with Counselling and Psychotherapy, or stay on the psychology course.  .
